(The first painting in row, with deer)
This painting calls to mind all of our eyes watching through our phones, consuming yet another war while being helpless to stop it. The deer eats saffron, a staple in the Middle East and one of the most expensive and delicate herbs on the market.
On top of being a symbol for the countries inside of the Levantine region, it is also a flower of endurance and hope, flowering in the winter before any other bloom can peek above the snow.
May we all endure the times to come, with both grace and empathy for our fellow man.
