To Consume

Part of the latest work from the artists dreams, ‘To Consume’ highlights the relationship of life with death. A candle is lit upon a pile of bones and teeth, which symbolize the need to eat or consume the essence of other life to survive. The flame is a blooming wild rose, symbolizing how bittersweet it is to do so, while the surrounding thorns protect the sanctity of that life. 

This thought-provoking work measures 5.5”x8.5” and is painted on board with gouache paint.
