The River of Connection {painting}
The River of Connection {painting}
Calling out consumption of natural resources at the expense of an indigenous population, the River Of Connection seeks to draw parallels between a peoples’ sustainable practices, and our exploitative ones.
The Congo is one of the most biodiverse and naturally rich countries in the world, with both megafauna and molecular and mineral wealth along the rivers shores. Colonizers have been tapping this wealth and brutalizing its population for centuries, at the cost of the planets stability and the stability of its inhabitants.
This painting shows the beauty and strength of the Congo, the relentless resilience of its people, and a selection of national and natural symbols that represent what makes it so important.
The painting measures 20”x30” framed; and 18”x24” unframed. The frame pictured is included in the purchase of this painting.
