The Fire of Rebellion {painting}
The Fire of Rebellion {painting}
A commentary on our need as humans to consider people OVER profits, and putting our money where our values are.
Everett’s work on this topic is a play on class warfare and current issues around the globe. This piece in particular focuses on the genocide in Palestine. They utilize the baroque and Dutch styles of still life to make current humanitarian issues “attractive and palatable “ for the viewer, calling to attention the fact that we are both spoiled by social media consumption and the idealism of fake lives, and also with the privilege to ignore and look away from things we do not deem as pleasant.
These images are made pointedly glamorous, as to call out especially the financially endowed for their resources to do good, and their lack of action.
18”x24” image, including in purchase a 20”x30” baroque gold frame and black mat.
