Mundane Dystopia Mini Trio!

Fine art mini prints of all three pieces featured in the Mundane Dystopia show.

Uniting with a group of colleagues they met at art events, Everett and their fellow artists are striving to create a portrait of the dystopia that is the present day, all while having to go about our lives like nothing is happening. Everett’s work on this topic is a play on class warfare and current issues around the globe. It utilizes the baroque and Dutch styles of still life to make current humanitarian issues “attractive and palatable “ for the viewer, calling to attention the fact that we are both spoiled by social media consumption and the idealism of fake lives, and also the privilege to ignore and look away from things we do not deem as pleasant. These images are made pointedly glamorous, as to call out especially the upper class for their resources to do good, and their lack of action.

The works specifically call out the issues in the Congo, Palestine, and the plight of the Romani people.
